Through wireless home internet technology, homes that are outside of our wireline service area are connected to our reliable internet over the Rogers wireless network. A technician will install a specialized antenna outside your home to maximize signal connection to your local cell tower. That antenna is then connected to the internet modem inside your home to deliver powerful WiFi for smartphones, laptops and more.

What is wireless home internet technology and who can get it?

Wireless home internet technology delivers Rogers home internet service over our wireless network. It connects the internet modem to a specialized antenna installed outside the home and then transmits data through the local wireless cell tower. Currently, we provide service in select areas across Canada and are working to expand the service to other areas as well.

What happens during the installation?

A technician will:
1. Assess your home and property to confirm a strong signal connection to your local wireless cell tower.
2. Install an outdoor antenna on the side of your house or on the edge of your roof to connect to the cell tower.

Can I get Ignite TV with my wireless home internet service?

Unfortunately, Ignite TVTM is not available to addresses on our wireless home internet service.

How is this different than a Rocket Hub?

The RocketTM Hub solution is ideal for portable internet usage, typically for locations needing temporary or seasonal connectivity. Rogers Internet using wireless home internet technology is specifically designed for ongoing home-usage. It offers a stronger connection to the Rogers wireless network through a professionally installed outdoor antenna linked to a local cellular tower. And generous data usage is included in the packages to support multiple people and devices in the household.

 

 

Do I have to commit to a long term contract?
